The world we live in today is a far cry from the world our educators knew as students. Today our world is globally connected, technologically driven, and FAST. To keep up with the demands of the future world, our students need to be immersed in lessons that address our global, technological society. The Great Escape does just that. Immerse your students in this fast-paced race that will take them on a global trek on which they will reinforce geography skills while they try to escape from the snide villain and uncover the power of the stone of wisdom!

The questions for each section of the escape are designed to refine students’ geographic skills as they interpret maps from around the world. They will have tasks where they need to locate capital cities, determine precipitation, find airports, locate wild cats, etc. They will have a wide variety of answers to look for with the given maps.

Escape sections are divided into groups of 4 tasks that must be completed successfully before moving on to the next section.

Description

Excellent for in class or remote learning … this digital collection is designed to engage students in geographic adventures! In each adventure the goal for students is to reach a magical stone, and in order to acquire the stone, they will have to collect clues at 5 rest areas. As they travel through routes to the rest areas, they’ll accomplish 5 geographic tasks that are aligned to the c-3 Framework.

Purchasing the bundle provides differing levels of adventures allowing for differentiation options! Each product can be purchased independently.

Tasks include skills such as:

  • map interpretation
  • explaining relationships between the location of places and their environment
  • explaining cultural and environmental characteristics over time
  • understanding the need for trade and the distribution of crops as well as the effect of trade on geography as well as location and trade on power
  • understanding natural disasters
  • recognizing migration patterns
  • understand the impact of desertification and natural hazards
  • seeing the struggles of the rainforest
