Ars Oratorium: Public Speaking in Rome

$10.00

For the ancient Romans, public speaking was seen as an art form. Anyone who was “anyone,” practiced the skill of oration in the forum. From early childhood education, the art of oration was taught in the classrooms in order to prepare citizens for public speaking. People were expected to speak in public at some time in their lives. It might be at a public meeting, it might be in a court of law, and it might be in the government. But no matter what, the Romans saw public speaking as the most important art form.

“What fun! The activities definitely work with getting even shy kids more comfortable speaking in public.”             -Mike M.
