Description

Through Montage of Mythology, students will immerse themselves in an exciting study of world mythology through analyzing various cultures’ myths with regard to a set list of generalizations. In addition, given a project menu, students will utilize learning contracts as they complete higher-level activities that allow them to delve deeper into an aspect of mythology.

After finishing the unit, students will understand that
1. Mythology was written to either explain nature, entertain or teach a moral lesson.
2. Mythology teaches how a group of people developed a particular social system with its many customs and ways of life.
3. Mythology of various cultures helps to explain the differences and similarities between the cultures.
4. Mythology aids in understanding why people behave as they do.
